Delaware school board members with an idea to fix a local problem can now apply for First State Educate's 2027 Capacity Grants — up to $2,000 for board-led projects that tackle district challenges and strengthen how school boards govern.
The program pairs board members with their superintendents to identify district needs and build a project, and the ideas that work are meant to be shared with districts statewide. Current Delaware school board members who take part in First State Educate activities are eligible.
Key dates: a virtual orientation for prospective applicants is Monday, November 9, and applications are due December 1. Award notifications are expected between December 16 and January 5. Details and the application are at firststateeducate.org.
