Team Murphy Media holds very little personal data — our Privacy Policy explains what there is. If you want the personal data we hold about you deleted, here is exactly how to ask, and exactly what happens next.
How to request deletion
- Email [email protected] with the subject line "Data Deletion Request."
- Tell us the email address or phone number your data is under, and briefly what you'd like deleted — for example, emails or tips you've sent us.
- If you can, send the request from the same email address it concerns, so we can be sure the request is really yours.
What happens next
We reply to confirm we've received your request. We then delete the personal data we hold about you from our mailbox and newsroom records within 30 days of your request, and we email you again when it's done. If a request is unclear, or we can't verify it came from you, we'll ask a follow-up question rather than act on it blindly. A few records must be kept where the law requires it — payment records are held by Stripe under its own policies, together with any accounting records we are legally required to retain — and if that applies to part of your request, we'll tell you.
Facebook and Meta data
Our newsroom reads public posts and public comments published on official public Facebook Pages through Meta's Graph API. Those posts belong to the Page that published them and stay under that Page's control: to remove a public post or comment from Facebook itself, use Facebook's own controls or contact the Page. If we are storing a copy of public content that identifies you and you want our copy deleted, say so in your deletion-request email and we will delete our copy on the same 30-day terms.
