UPDATE: The man killed in the Cockeysville driveway shooting has been identified as Amon Walker, 20.
We first reported this shooting yesterday. It happened Halloween night in Cockeysville, just over the Maryland line in Baltimore County.
Baltimore County Police say Walker was one of three masked men who approached a resident sitting in his driveway in the 10000 block of Greenside Drive around 10:40 PM Saturday. One of the men was armed, and police say the group threatened the resident.
The resident fired, then called 911.
Walker was found dead nearby. The other two men were later located after they sought treatment for gunshot wounds at local hospitals. Police also recovered a loaded handgun they believe belonged to the men who approached the resident.
Here is where it stands now: police have not released the names of the two surviving men or the homeowner, and they have announced no charges against anyone. The county Homicide Unit is still investigating, and police say there is no active threat to the community.
The Baltimore Banner and BCo Breaking News both carried the Baltimore County Police account, including Walker's identification. If police release the other names or announce charges, we will update this story.
