UPDATE — Ross Elementary will be CLOSED all week: no classes Oct. 26–30 for Lulu M. Ross students, in person or remote, Milford Superintendent Travis Moorman announced this afternoon.
All other Milford schools run on their regular schedule. Ross staff will get updates and specifics through the week. The district is working with the state to collect support resources for families and staff dealing with the loss, and students struggling with it are encouraged to reach out to school counselors and administrators.
Moorman also asked everyone to avoid the school while cleanup and the fire investigation continue. The cause is still undetermined.
This follows this morning's three-alarm fire that heavily damaged the school's lobby, library, front office and classrooms in both main hallways. No one was injured. Our full story from this morning is here on the page.
