🏫 UPDATE — Ross Elementary's 600-plus students have a new home for now: they'll be back in class Monday, Nov. 2, at Milford Middle School.
We told you about the fire that displaced Lulu M. Ross Elementary. The Milford School District's plan, released Oct. 27 by Superintendent Travis Moorman: sixth graders move from Milford Middle to Milford Central Academy to make room, and Ross second, third and fourth graders take over the middle school classrooms. The district says daily updates are coming as the rest is confirmed.
Staff started calling every Ross family Tuesday to ask what they need. The Food Bank of Delaware keeps meals coming, and the district is expanding its Friday backpack food program to every Ross family.
The fire's cause remains under investigation — no cause has been announced.
