They Lived at a Water Park for Three Weeks. Then She Called 911.

THEY LIVED AT A WATER PARK FOR THREE WEEKS. THEN SHE CALLED 911.

Picture this. The Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos. October 12th. It’s supposed to be the happiest place for kids — water slides, wave pools, the smell of chlorine and french fries. Room 2030.

Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, picks up the phone and calls 911. She’s calm. Too calm. She tells the dispatcher she needs help killing herself. She can’t, in her words, “find the vein in her neck to stab.”

When they get to the room, her husband Charles is on the floor. Dead. Multiple stab wounds to the chest. And their 3-year-old son — dead too. One stab wound to the chest. A baby.

She has cuts on her wrists and neck. She’s alive. They’re both gone.

She’s sitting in a hospital right now, in custody, charged with two counts of criminal homicide.

Now here’s where it gets cold.

The knives didn’t come from the resort. There were two of them — a butcher knife on the bathroom floor, a smaller one in the sink. Both came from their house in Towanda. That’s two hours away from the Poconos.

You don’t pack kitchen knives for a water park vacation unless you already know what you’re going to do with them.

Her stepmother said it straight: “To me, it was planned.”

And she’d reportedly taken blood thinners beforehand. Think about that. Blood thinners. That’s not a moment of madness — that’s someone making sure that when they cut, they don’t stop bleeding.

But here’s the part that’ll sit with you long after you finish reading this.

Through August, her social media was glowing. Ferris wheel photos. Smiling in every picture. She’d done a normal video call with family the Sunday night before — laughing, chatting, nothing wrong. Her stepmother says there were no signs of mental illness. Not ever. Nobody saw this coming.

They’d been living at that resort since September 21st. Three weeks. They extended their stay on October 5th. Checkout was supposed to be October 13th — the day after she called 911.

A family of three. Living at a water park. Two hours from home. For three weeks. And nobody’s asking why.

On the 911 call, she said — and this is a direct quote — “it wasn’t supposed to end like this.” Then she asked the dispatcher how deep she’d need to cut for “next time.”

There wasn’t supposed to be a next time. There were supposed to be three people checking out on the 13th.

Check on your people. The ones posting the happy photos especially.
