THE DAY IN THE 302
Friday was a heavy, full day across the 302 and the roads around it. Delaware early voting blew past 116,000 ballots with two days of early voting left. Smyrna filed new charges in the End Zone parking-lot shooting and the bail in that case jumped to $548,000. Wilmington police hit three locations in a drug-and-gun investigation, a Newark bus-stop stabbing ended in an arrest, and Middletown police jailed a man after two exposure incidents at local businesses. State Police named the woman killed in Wednesday’s New Castle crash, and a 19-year-old from Ellendale died after a pickup ran a red light in Lincoln. The day also brought good news done right: Wilmington opened Delaware’s first Sixers basketball court at Eastlake Park, and Rehoboth Beach unveiled the state’s first historical marker dedicated to LGBTQ history at Poodle Beach. Beyond Delaware, Baltimore announced indictments in the killing of 12-year-old Khloe Ishway and a separate Fells Point killing, Prince George’s County worked three unconnected killings in a single morning, Maryland’s Attorney General declined charges in a fatal Jessup pursuit, and Atlantic City’s firefighters were honored in a look-back at last week’s 190-foot elevator rescue. The Still Missing 302 roster moved twice: Brandon McCracken was located and his Gold Alert cancelled, and 17-year-old Lisa Duong of New Castle was added on Day 1. The roster stands at 16. Here is the full record.

WILMINGTON — DELAWARE’S FIRST SIXERS COURT OPENS AT EASTLAKE PARK
Delaware’s first Sixers court is open — and it’s in Wilmington.
Eastlake Park — 30th Street Park to everyone who grew up on it — reopened Wednesday with a freshly paved, red-white-and-blue 76ers-themed court: new hoops, and the foundation logo at center court. The park also gained a new playground, a pickleball court, a pavilion, and picnic areas.
The 76ers foundation put $150,000 toward the project, with the city covering the rest of the $188,000 total, according to city Communications Director Caroline Klinger. After 15 courts around Philadelphia, it is the foundation’s first in Delaware.
Mayor John Carney, who played here as a kid, called it “an unbelievably happy day.” Councilmember Shané Darby, who pushed six years for the project, said: “This isn’t just another park in my district. This is home.”
Kids helped cut the ribbon, then joined a clinic with Blue Coats coaches. The park is open dawn to dusk.

REHOBOTH BEACH — POODLE BEACH GETS ITS HISTORICAL MARKER
Poodle Beach is officially part of Delaware history now.
The Delaware Public Archives unveiled a new state historical marker on Thursday at Prospect Street and the South Boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach, honoring the stretch of sand that has drawn LGBTQ residents and visitors since the 1930s.
The marker tells the story: south of the main crowds, people could gather here openly and safely. The beach took off in the late 1970s and picked up the name “Poodle Beach” — the marker admits nobody knows where the name came from. From 1988 to 2019 it hosted the annual Labor Day Drag Volleyball Game, drawing thousands.
Locals first applied for the marker in 2020. It is the first Delaware state historical marker dedicated to LGBTQ history — marker SC-289.
Worth a read next time you’re at the south end of the boardwalk.

WILMINGTON — THE SPADOLA SEAT FIGHT HEADS TO DELAWARE’S SUPREME COURT
One council seat, two courts, $207,000 — the Spadola fight is headed to Delaware’s Supreme Court.
Council President Ernest “Trippi” Congo and the Wilmington council have appealed the Chancery Court ruling that blocked them from removing at-large Councilman James Spadola, who switched from Republican to Democrat in September 2025. In May, the council voted to declare the seat vacant, arguing the city charter protects minority-party representation.
Chancellor Kathaleen McCormick ruled in September that the charter doesn’t restrict post-election party switches, and that the council exceeded its authority. The council says it remains “firmly convinced” the charter prohibits it. Its fast-track request was denied October 14. The opening brief is due November 30.
The city’s legal bill tops $207,000 — $130,000 of it paid to Spadola’s own lawyers. He has called an appeal a waste of resources.

GREENWOOD — UNMARKED BURIALS FOUND NEAR ADAMSVILLE; THE STATE IS LOOKING FOR THE FAMILY
Someone’s family is buried near Greenwood — and the state is looking for them.
Delaware’s Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs is asking for help. Construction on private land on Hickman Road, near Adamsville, west of Greenwood in Kent County, uncovered unmarked burials — at least three people: likely an adult man, an adult woman, and a child, buried sometime between 1780 and 1900.
State research traces the land to the Adams family, who owned it from about 1836 to 1913. Whether any of the owners were buried there is unknown.
If these may be your relatives — or you know of an unmarked family cemetery on that property — contact the Director, Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs, 29 North State Street, Dover, DE 19901-3611, or call 302-736-7400 weekdays, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., by December 11, 2026.
Please share this. The family these remains belong to may not know to look.

BALTIMORE — INDICTMENTS IN THE KILLING OF KHLOE ISHWAY, 12, AND A FELLS POINT KILLING
Khloe Ishway, 12, was killed October 3 at a football homecoming in Leon Day Park — prosecutors say it was never about a parking spot.
Four others were injured in the gunfire. But the first account was wrong: days earlier, two men allegedly pulled a gun on a man and pistol-whipped him; on October 3, one of them allegedly opened fire on him and his friend. The man who had been targeted, a legal concealed-carry holder, returned fire — and is not charged.
The indictments were announced Thursday by State’s Attorney Ivan Bates and Mayor Brandon Scott. Indicted in Khloe’s killing: Tyree Reynolds, 23 — held without bond, with life without parole sought.
Also indicted: Montray McCray, 32, for killing Claudia Bismark, 76, in Fells Point — held without bail, with life without parole sought.
All charges are allegations.

JESSUP — NO CHARGES IN THE PURSUIT CRASH THAT KILLED A PASSENGER
A passenger died in a Jessup police pursuit — and the state says no law was broken.
Attorney General Anthony G. Brown announced Thursday: no charges against Howard County PFC Amir Parker in the September 6 collision that killed Anthony L. Bowers, Jr.
Per the Attorney General’s release: at about 2 a.m. on September 6, Parker was on duty in an unmarked F-150 in a Montevideo Road lot when an Infiniti Q60 carrying three people hit his vehicle and fled. With supervisory approval, he pursued for about a mile. In Anne Arundel County, the Infiniti left the road, hit a concrete wall, and ejected all three occupants.

ATLANTIC CITY EXPRESSWAY — A VEHICLE INTO A TANKER AT MILE MARKER 12 (SINGLE SOURCE)
A vehicle ran into the side of a tanker on the westbound Atlantic City Expressway late Thursday night, dispatch audio indicates — and no official word has followed.
Up front: this story rests on a single source so far — an auto-generated transcript of live dispatch audio (CrimeRadar). The transcript itself warns that it may be incomplete or inaccurate and that it is not an official report. No New Jersey State Police statement and no news coverage of this crash has surfaced, and we are standing by for confirmed details.
The dispatch audio, from around 11:49 p.m. Thursday, has a responder checking the area of mile marker 12 westbound for a tanker — the transcript renders the name as “Seneco” — and reporting that another vehicle “ran into the side of it.”
That is the whole of what the audio gives us. It says nothing about injuries, nothing about lane closures, and nothing about what the tanker was carrying — and we won’t fill in those blanks. If State Police or another official source confirms what happened near mile marker 12, we will update.

LOOK-BACK — ATLANTIC CITY FIREFIGHTERS’ 190-FOOT ELEVATOR RESCUE AT THE BORGATA
We missed this one when it happened last week, and it deserves the record.
On Thursday, October 22, at about 5:23 p.m., two women became trapped in an elevator in a blind shaft at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City — a shaft with no access from the surrounding floors. Atlantic City firefighters built specialized rope systems and carried out a coordinated vertical extraction.
Firefighters Anthony Phillips and Brian Berrio descended about 190 feet on ropes. The women were secured and hoisted out one at a time. The second woman was safe by 8:19 p.m., and the last firefighter was out at 8:22 p.m. — nearly three hours after the call.
Rescue 1, Ladder 1, and Engine 2 worked the scene. Deputy Chief Duane Brock held overall command, and Captain Jeffrey Jenkins coordinated critical elements. There were no injuries — confirmed by every source. The women are not named in the official coverage.
