🚂 Somebody stole a trainload of sneakers — and one pair of Disney shoes on eBay brought the whole thing down.
LAPD's Cargo Theft Task Force says detectives spotted limited-edition Brooks × Disney shoes — stolen off Burlington Northern & Santa Fe trains — for sale on eBay. A controlled buy led them straight to a Chatsworth shop, DesignerDeals4Less.
On October 21, a multi-agency team raided the shop and found 35 pallets of stolen railroad cargo worth an estimated $1 million: Brooks, Hoka, New Balance, Adidas, On and Salomon shoes, plus JanSport backpacks.
Police say the owner, Heros Tasci, 51, of Simi Valley, admitted buying the goods from illegitimate distributors. He was booked on suspicion of receiving stolen property; the investigation is ongoing.
One eBay listing. Thirty-five pallets. Never fence the Mouse's shoes.
