She got out a window. That's how she lived.
On June 24, 2025, in Smyrna, a woman was restrained by Dallas Drummond — and she fought her way free of those restraints, jumped out a window, and ran to a neighbor, who called 911. Smyrna police arrested Drummond on July 1, 2025.
This month, the case reached its turning point. Drummond, 47, of Dover, pled guilty on Oct. 6 to first-degree kidnapping, first-degree assault, strangulation, and weapon charges, the Delaware Department of Justice announced.
What happens next is sentencing, which is still to come.
But the part of this story that matters most already happened on a June night in Smyrna — when the person he tried to hold fought free, went out a window, and made it to help. That's why he's the one in court.
