K-9 Bane has died. The State Police announced his passing on October 21 — he was 10 years old. 🐾 He came to his partner at eight weeks old, and went out a nine-year veteran of the Delaware State Police.
Born May 22, 2016, Bane became Cpl/3 Ronzo's partner at just eight weeks old, and began his career as a DSP K-9 shortly after his first birthday. A certified dual-purpose K-9 — patrol operations and narcotics detection — his first assignment was with Troop 2's Governor's Task Force. He and Ronzo later served patrol assignments with Troops 2 and 9, protecting communities across Delaware. Across nine years, Bane also supported specialized units — SORT, CIU, SIU and ICAC — and earned the respect of law enforcement partners across Delaware and beyond, including the FBI, DEA and HSI.
Troopers get partners. Ronzo got family. Rest easy, Bane — end of watch, September 30, 2026. 🔶🚔
