If your street floods on an ordinary high tide, this week is one to watch.
Delaware’s coast is in a king-tide window running Oct. 26–30, according to NOAA data reported by Delaware Online. Lewes and Indian River Inlet saw the highest water of the window this morning — Lewes peaked around 10:38 AM at a predicted 5.5 feet above mean lower low water, a season high.
Higher-than-normal tides continue through Friday, and minor coastal flooding is possible in the usual low-lying spots around the beaches, back bays, and low roads.
Through Friday: give yourself extra room around high tide, and never drive through flooded roadways.
