HALLOWEEN NIGHT IN COCKEYSVILLE: A HOMEOWNER SHOT THREE MASKED MEN IN HIS OWN DRIVEWAY. ONE IS DEAD.

This happened Saturday night — Halloween — just over the line in Baltimore County, Maryland, and county police confirmed the details today.

Around 10:40 PM Saturday, a man was sitting in his driveway in the 10000 block of Greenside Drive in Cockeysville when, according to Baltimore County Police, three masked men approached and threatened him. One of them was armed with a handgun.

The resident fired. Then he called 911 himself.

One of the men was found dead nearby. Police identified him as Amon Walker, 20. The other two men later turned up at local hospitals with gunshot wounds. Police recovered a loaded handgun they say belonged to the men who approached him.

Where it stands tonight: police say there is no active threat, the county Homicide Unit is investigating, and no charges have been announced. The homeowner and the two surviving men have not been identified.

The Baltimore Banner and BCo Breaking News both carried the county police account today. If Baltimore County Police announce charges or release more, we'll follow it.

A man sitting in his own driveway on Halloween night. That's the whole story — and it's enough.
