Here's your Election Day bonus, Delaware: the state parks are waiving entrance fees all day Tuesday to celebrate the park system's 75th anniversary.
Fifteen parks are in — Cape Henlopen, Delaware Seashore, Fenwick Island, Trap Pond, Lums Pond, and more. No gate fee. Just show up.
And the timing is perfect: schools are closed for Election Day, so the kids are home anyway. Vote in the morning, then take them to the beach or the trails — that's a Tuesday done right.
One note: Fort Delaware isn't part of the free day, so plan around the participating parks.
