We're a two-person local news outfit in Smyrna, Delaware. Tonight, putting story links in our comments got our commenting shut down by your spam filter — try again tomorrow.
Why links in comments? Your policy rations Pages to 2 links a month, and unlimited links cost $499.99 a month per Page — $1,000 for our two pages. We run local news on a mechanic's paycheck.
Charge us when we're big. A year from now, if we're making money, we'll pay it gladly. Put the paywall where a newsroom can carry it — not on a mom-and-pop shop that just opened its doors.
We weren't spamming. We were covering a shooting, a missing teenager on day six, an election guide — using the only workaround you left open.
You can't tell a bot farm from a husband-and-wife news page on a Thursday night. That's not safety. That's just silly.
Verify the newsrooms. Count us as press, not spam.
