🚌 A Williamsburg-James City County school bus ran off the road and rolled onto its side Friday morning — and all four preschoolers aboard are okay and back home with their families.

It was a single-vehicle crash; no other vehicle was involved. Police say the bus was headed to the Bright Beginnings preschool program at Clara Byrd Baker Elementary when it crashed at 4400 Centerville Road, James City County, at 9:20 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30.

Bystanders helped the children off. County fire medics checked them on scene for minor injuries; none went to a hospital. The driver and a female aide went to an area hospital with apparently minor injuries.

The driver, Mark Callazzo, 37, of James City County, is charged with reckless driving / failure to maintain control. Released on a summons.
