💔 A 72-year-old Millsboro woman has died after a head-on crash on Long Neck Road, and State Police are asking anyone who saw it to come forward.
Delaware State Police say that around 7 p.m. Friday, Deborah Pettyjohn's Hyundai Tucson was traveling in the wrong lane of Long Neck Road, south of Pot Nets Road, with no headlights on, when it struck a northbound Jeep Compass head-on. Troopers say the Jeep's driver tried to avoid the Hyundai.
Pettyjohn was flown to an area hospital with serious injuries and died on Sunday, October 25. The Jeep's driver, a 53-year-old Millsboro man, had non-life-threatening injuries.
The Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit is still investigating. Witnesses, or anyone with video, can contact Sergeant A. Mitchell at (302) 703-3269 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) 847-3333.
Our condolences to the Pettyjohn family.
